Icons

Icons are wines with a strong symbolic value for us, as they have marked significant milestones in the evolution of our company, through innovative projects involving grape varieties and wood aging.

These wines are deeply rooted to territory yet embrace an international perspective. Their modern conception is also reflected in the graphic design, which aligns with the corporate visual identity, minimalist yet impactful.

NERO

ROSSO SALENTO IGP
The name of the wine refers to its main grape, Negroamaro, composed of the terms ‘Niger’ and ‘Mavros’, both meaning indeed ‘black’. Nero holds the mystery and magic of the night, when the senses intensify and perception blends with darkness and its majestic quiet.

SOIL

Salice Salentino: deep soil, clay loam texture. The soil in Salice Salentino provides an ideal environment for varieties such as Negroamaro, Aglianico and Cabernet Sauvignon thanks to its clay loam texture. This type of soil is deep and rich in organic substance, providing a natural supply of nutrients for the vines. The clayey component helps retain moisture in the soil, ensuring adequate water supply during drought periods. This is particularly advantageous for vine cultivation because the roots can have continuous access to water and essential nutrients for growth. Clay also contributes to the soil composition, giving stability to the vines and facilitating a slow and uniform ripening of the grapes.

soil

Leverano: medium texture soil, some parts with ‘terra rossa’ (red soil) for the presence of iron oxides. This type of soil offers a balance of sand, silt and clay, facilitating water and nutrient retention and ensuring vines a constant supply of essential substances for their growth. In some areas of Leverano the presence of red soil is observed due to iron oxides. This feature enriches the complexity of the wines, as the minerals in the soil influence the aromatic profile and the wine structure, giving them unique notes.
